Those spouting complete and utter nonsense have gone incredibly quiet this week. Caught out by the P&D last week or true colours coming through?
Either way, I would rather no news than a paragraph of drivel on here or meaningless weblink to another coal project in Bangladesh with no reference to Phulbari.
Good luck. Can't wait to get out of this share but too far in at present
Thanks Marv, I mibbee should have checked the organisers website :-)
I see Jayviper on the other forum asking whether the fact Tang is "Datuk" makes him more credible. Simple answer is no.
Sir Jimmy Saville is a case in point. A title does not maketh the man.
Again, hope I'm mistaken
Tahreen Tahrima Chowdhury Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS)
Muhammed Aziz Khan Chairman, Summit Power International
Mohammed Malek Managing Director, Bencon Seatrans Ltd.
Shah Abdul Maula Project Director and Chief Engineer, Bangladesh-China Power Company Limited (BCPCL)
Commodore M Jahangir Alam Chairman, Payra Port Authority
Shri Satyendra Nath Tiwari, Director (Marketing), Coal India Limited (CIL)
It seems to be organised around the new Payra plant
Marv are any of the other parties proposing coal mines in Bangladesh on the exhibitor or speaker list?
I can't find the list any chance of a link?
Jupiter, they are not on the exhibitors list but is this really of any surprise?
It’s a privately run conference by the looks of it and until they’ve had approval I doubt very much they would want to be seen publicly touting themselves around (purely from a tactical view if nothing else).
Although I don’t want to admit it as I’d love for it to cash out, I think you’re right. The whole thing stinks and for me, not being involved in the impending coal conference adds to my thoughts. Feels like we have been and continue to be played here.
This is what I've been saying since I joined the forum. There is no way that the SP would be hovering around the 11-17p bracket if news was imminent.
I hope to god I'm wrong and we end up having a 300, 400, 500% rise at some point but I just cannot see it.
I'm sure somebody with far more knowledge than me will chirp up saying all the ducks are lined up and we're close to take off etc, but the SP doesn't lie I'm afraid. Tang and his cronies are having a having a laugh at shareholders expense.
PROVE ME WRONG!!!
If that’s the case, this is not happening for the reasons already cited. I’ve been here for years and years now and to seeing this at 12/13p after all this time is gut wrenching. If this is going to happen soon, we wouldn’t be at these levels. For me, this whole situation we find ourselves in with Tang, Polo and the continued radio silence...stinks. Good job I wrote my investment off some years ago. Frustrating but not at all surprised really.
Well the definitely aren’t returning calls at the moment.
I don’t expect to hear anything major from the coal conference as it doesn’t appear that we are attending.
I can't help but feel that myself - I just don't want to tempt fate by writing it..... :)
Fingers crossed...
Yes, feel as they have adjourned it on purpose because of things happening in the back ground and they probably know it will be all done by March 31st!!
Ahh yes apologies.......... thanks lovely - (sounds a bit weird reading that back!)
No Manudave, they have stated in the Rns that the Agm meeeting will be held on March:
2019 Annual General Meeting ("AGM")
As announced on 18 December 2019, it was the Company's intention to hold the AGM before 29 February 2020. The Company regrets to advise its AGM has been further delayed and confirms that the Board's current intention is to send out a notice of AGM, to be held before 31 March 2020, shortly.
Hopefully we haven’t long to go for an update on the progress of the submission along with all the other overdue news . All this waiting is getting to much now!!!
Great post rickyroman
The AGM was cancelled on the 18th December:
"Notice of a revised time and date for the reconvened AGM will be notified in due course and the Board anticipates that this reconvened AGM will be held no later than 29 February 2020"
The minimum notice that needs to be given for an AGM is 3 weeks so the 29th February is obviously not happening now.
The coal conference is being held on the 23rd March so if we want our AGM to be done and dusted before the conference, we need to be notified in the next 14 days or so.... time is a ticking....
….illegal gas connections in Dhaka alone !
The mind boggles - bits of garden hose, jubilee clips, piggy-back on somebody else's connection.
With regard to GCM, we are at the point whereby in the next 30 days, this is either a fully funded go-er, or its game over for now.
There cannot be a Coal Convention at the end of March which does not include 'own coal from Phulbari' on the agenda.
Its an opportunity to announce a China / Bangladesh partnership which will deliver 6000MW of low-cost electricity, to the nation. A Chinese funded project which will utilise the country's own high quality coal and a project which will be transformational for the inhabitants of the Rangpur region.
There we are, I have written the PR blurb, they just need to now get on with it.
If we don't feature at the convention, after a whole year of extra time and preparation, then Michael Tang has failed.
