And Posco plans to buy Senex, another small oil company in Australia

Natural gas realistically is the cheapest route to producing the volumes of hydrogen l that the world will need.
It can be produced from oil but the cost base is higher.
And we know the importance of the bottom line.
Eaglerbf,
I totally agree with you.
Origin and POSCO signed an energy deal earlier this year - hydrogen generation for clean fuel export to SKorea. I'm sure they're gonna need gas for this clean fuel - is this Green or Blue hydrogen...clueless on this but gas resources are a must. It seems POSCO's first foray in Aussie gas upstream....I can smell someone sniffing

Guernica,
I was a Nuclear Waste Engineer. In general you are exactly right. The chief benefit of nuclear power is the majority of the waste product is contained within the spent fuel. Unlike fossil fuel waste which is spewed into the environment.
But the amount of waste isn’t the point.
Logic and reason, never work against perennial critics who are in the business of stirring up anti-nuclear sentiment.
Again, it’s too easy and takes very little money or effort to stir up the public.
I’m LTH, GLTA
As stated Town gas which is not now produced in the UK. UK town gas contained up to 49% Hydrogen differing manufacturing processes determined the final composition/ mix.
Modern domestic boilers were/ are designed to work up to a 20% Hydrogen content.
However the new generation alluded to will run on hydrogen.
You will find that is why the test are being carried out using the mixture referred to, might I suggest this is a political decision based on avoidance of public outcry
do not predictive text and lack of edit in 2021 is somewhat lacking!
Unfortunately ,Rolls Royce do agree, my research is the recent share holder report, perhaps might I suggest that the share price being in the doldrums for sometime now, has recently started to improve, might I suggest on the back of the media referring to what could solve the company's problems.
One would think from a safety aspect do they not use small nuclear power units in boats????
Being from the Nuclear Industry myself, you do realize the minimal amount of waste right? Canada has been powered by nuclear since 1950s and all the nuclear waste since then would cover a hockey rink to the height of the glass...
eagler, not to mention Japan never wants to see a nuclear power plant built again.
Coming from the Nuclear Industry, having dealt with activists, and an angry public.....
The idea that nuclear power is going to take off or that it will be in every home, village, factory, or wherever is utterly ridiculous.
No place to put the waste and more important it’s too easy for the activists to scare people.
Just sayin’
Only stating, and don't kill the messenger!
1). Scottish oil and gas terminal going to build a hydrogen production plant.
2). Alaska are committed to taking advantage of their enormous gas reserves, and bringing said product to their domestic market, and supply the world markets with Hydrogen.
3). China's economy is expected to Increase to such an extent, that will bring them to be scouring the world for oil and gas as are other world economies ( they will all won't what we have, cars, central heating, air conditioning etc etc) all needing oil and gas in whatever form.
4). Major domestic central heating boiler manufacturers, have already designed, tested, and are tooled up to provide the next generation of boilers. Hydrogen powered, part of the reasoning, is national grids throughout the World are Hydrogen safe.
(For the doubters DYOR, Town gas was upto 49% hydrogen.
5). Nuclear is the way forward, however the 1st new generation nuclear power station is twenty years away.
6). Rolls Royce, could be of interest as they expect to be bringing their mini Nuclear power plants to the market by 2030, dare I suggest that small villages, housing estates, as well as industrial manufacturing plants etc, could be self reliant.
Schlemiel; ?
Your allowed a discretion let's hope the wife doesn't read the forum, but when stating the truth in respect of gas is the future you're allowed as many as you want in my book.
One has to ask why a Scottish gas terminal going to build an hydrogen production plant?
haha! made me spit out me coffee haha!!!! schlemiel that's funny!

the search for the transitional fuel of tomorrow ie gas can only increase. Wind, sun and wave can barely generate enuff elec to power my wife's vibrator, apologies for the descent into vulgarity
