To me whilst Nico and Co have started to make progress this is still uninvestable, and will remain so until there is both positive EBITDA and cash flow / generation. I still like the idea, and think the opportunity is a good one - even after taking my ca. 85% loss when I finally got fed up and sold out earlier this year - and as with Ed, Richard & Co before them execution (of plans / strategy) is still the big issue where major improvements could be made. Once the financials start to look better I will probably reinvest, but not before (and in all likelihood probably not for at least another year as FJET time is quite slow).
Elton. As per any company not making a profit, it needs cash from somewhere. In fastjets case it has asked sharehikders for money time and time again. Anyone ingesting a few years ago would be 99.9% down on their original investment. Buying into a company which doesnt nor has ever made a profit and has no assets is a massive gamble.
about this share now all this place going on, please someone explain. thank you
Proposed Placing formerly approved. http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=FJET&ArticleCode=shi8997u&ArticleHeadline=Result_of_General_Meeting
The return leg on this flight seems to very full for the remainder of this week. Very surprising as the flight had been axed last week before a change of plan
"all the sale but sp is not going down, surely those sale must be a buy MM games" All transactions are both sales and purchases, but they are categorised as a sale if the transacted price is below the mid-price of the spread and categorised as a buy if it is above the mid-price of the spread. The reason for this is from the perspective of adding liquidity to the shares or taking liquidity from the shares. With liquid shares, where there is an active market maker, it works quite well, but with illiquid shares like this it is largely misleading.
you can't book the ticket?
Hurray! The Cancellations and Delays information panel has been updated at last. And No disruptions at the moment. Six months since it was last changed.
Africa should learn from the West that Airlines with State involvement become a Bottomless Money Pit. No matter how many times they get bailed out, reset debts to Zero they will once again lose money and within a short period of time, be back where they started. The Biggest Madness is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Almost every Country I can think of has profitable non State involved airlines, but I cannot think of any State Involved Airline that does not run at a significant Loss that would sink a Private Company. There is No Prestige to running a Loss Making State involved Airline just Embarrassment .
http://www.tourismupdate.co.za/article/127272/New-debt-free-national-airline-for-Zimbabwe Crazy but Politicians get hung up about having a national airline
all the sale but sp is not going down, surely those sale must be a buy MM games
Sorry, goodness knows what is causing the punctuation corruption in my posts to return. Even the single apostrophe is now affected as well as the long dash I often use. and respectively! (I do use an Apple Mac.)
Quite a big drop in last months On Time Performance percentage: down from a very respectable 94% in August to 88% last month last seen in May. Hardly surprising I guess given the current situation. Disruption data still out-of-date.
It just means that Fastjet are hopeful they will eventually get approval, currently we are still waiting for go ahead, Zambia not co operating
Out of Dar es Salaam does FN serve Kilimanjaro, Mwanza and Mbeya and flies regionally to Lusaka and Harare though it is hoped that services to Johannesburg will resume sooner rather than later to bring relief for passengers now charged an arm and a leg by South African Airways, the only carrier currently providing nonstop flights. https://wolfganghthome.wordpress.com/2017/10/13/solenta-aviation-set-to-become-fastjets-dominant-shareholder/
Mine yesterday @ 22.5 showing as sell. This would suggest that most of indicated sells at this price are actually buys?
HRE-LUN now added to destination map So I hope that means it can be expected again shortly for booking
Discounts for the follically challenged. Breaking down barriers :) https://www.theguardian.com/world/mozambique
Thank You Rufiji for your enlightening overview.
SAA/SA Airlink/.LAM have a tight hold on all the routes out of JNB to Mozambique incluidng Pemba, Maputo, Beira and Nampula plus I think Vilanculos. LAM and PRECISION fly DAR-PEMBA. I think that the authorites are not at present prepared to disturb these arrangemnts as the revenues underpin the finances of these airlines, SAA/Airlink would fight tooth and nail. LAM and AirZim have tried HRE-Maputo but loads were very disappoinitng and with Beira being the main entry port for Zim and only a three hour drive. MAPUTO to the regional centres were always flights well patronised when I was spending time in Mozambique, and news that Anadarko is close to restarting the massive offshore gas exploration off Pemba would add to the attraction. Maputo Lusaka may be worth a try as Mozmbique clearing agents are actively pushing Maputo as the entry port for Zambia, given congestion at Durban and high charges at Dar, and the road through Tete to Katete and down to Lusaka is pretty good so avoidng anything to do with Zimbabwe, but the Zambian Government does not seem to be a close ally of FJET. Bear in mind that Mozambique is currently going through difficult economic times as a result of the World BAnk suspending loans on account of major government malfeasance, and the commercial environment is difficult. ( when I worked there in the early 2000s buisness was still guided by the 1910 Portuguese Commercial Code !!!)But there should be enough traffic to target and a resumption of the major rnrgy projects would be a boostt
now updated to show Mozambique. If we could just re-instate Malawi and Add Botswana, it looks very impressive that we have East Africa good Coverage
With $10 and $20 one way lead in fares they should be sold out!
Lol

Nice pic of our CCO with glamorous reps from the WTA, plus lots of flattery from Nico about fastjet's "guests" (passengers)! The PIs' day will come!!
