"That because hard working taxpayers support all the unwashed through the benefit system. Why work when I’ve got all I need without getting off my phat arse."
I work at my local foodbank and homeless shelter once a week. Those who are stuck on benefits are really not living their best lives, Universal Credit is a endless spiral and is almost impossible to get off, especially if you have any of the health problems some of these people live with on a daily basis. they are not all druggies and alcoholics.
I'm far from a lefty either.
Hi Gmf1991. Please could you share the plethora of evidence that a strong social security system promotes economic growth. A google search didn't throw up much, some of it pretty old, all looked pretty inconclusive. I'd appreciate the opportunity to peruse the evidence you've obviously seen. Also, any comparative analysis of social security systems, especially those showing that the UK's is relatively miserly. I thought it was pretty good taken in the round. Rather than just cherry picking a couple of small elements of it.
Many thanks in advance.
A winning riposte if I ever seen one. Shall we ignore the plethora of evidence which shows a strong social security system enhances economic growth? Shall we forget the UK has a comparatively misery social security system? Shall we ignore that far more is lost to tax avoidance and evasion than to benefit fraud? I suppose your cursory reviews of Daily Heil headlines don't tend to favour an analysis of evidence. Stick with spouting the party line, politics of envy yaddy yaddy ya, and of course dazzling us all with your rapier like wit!
I suspect you sitting on your sizeable posterior would muffle your inane utterances....

Whatever its real worth, if we are never able to sell the shares or earn dividends because of indefinite suspension, then its fairly worthless.
What if it just gets delisted entirely? How will I be compensated?
alwayswinning - "We could learn so much from the Russians at this point in Britain's descent into third world living"
Do you mean with the same living standards as somewhere like - Russia, for instance? It's going to take the UK many many decades to descend to that depth of economic misery.
you speak a lot of sense alwayswinning. I can honestly say the state of British politics and business is an absolute embarrassment...capital allocation is almost like a foreign language in this country and the mixing of politics/finance/business with constant ESG agenda's and the like is just a robbery of shareholders.
I can quite honestly say that Polymetal and Evraz were two of the best capital allocators on the FTSE. Sums up the state of things how the UK government treated them. Disgraceful.
As RASP expands and demand for coal goes through the roof, we will find that is likely worth 3-4+ times more than the price EVR was suspended at alone. Gormless CEO's across the London stock exchange could learn a great deal from the people who managed this company. I'd go as far as to say, a lot of the people who ran EVR were among London's best assets.
Britain doesn't produce great business minds that are bold and act with impeccable initiative any more. Just shzit-libs who can't find their arze with both hands. We could learn so much from the Russians at this point in Britain's descent into third world living and economic conditions before things get worse. Unfortunately the British establishment has chosen to keep on bluffing with the worst possible hand like a rank amateur. Where have all the great British minds gone?
gasher, regarding EVR profits I'm trying to think of it as a 'savings plan' which will pay out in due course
What chance we can get something from Evraz NA, as North American operations are not restricted??
Delighted we have retained RASP, as it was unexpected and worth £1.88 per share by the demerger calculations
Stu
I wonder what will be shared at the AGM at the end of the month?
Bumper profits maybe, but alas, we cannot distribute anything as we are suspended so we will keep it all for ourselves!!!!!
