@Double
One of the posts of the day, but not as good as my handjob analogy !
Especially at those prices - 30 dollars a pop to watch at home. Can't see it being popular at that price.
If your only option is to watch Mulan at home, I think most people would just watch a pirate copy .... It's not like it's going to be a memorable experience. Why splash out ?
I have no idea mate, I just plug it in. There's an actual sound bar and then a massive speaker thing. (Woofer?) Needs 2 plug sockets and connects via Bluetooth. I'll be honest, I asked my mate whose tech savvy which one he recommended and he picked this one. The sound is amazing, but even though we are detached, we can't watch films on full volume due to the neighbours lol
Quick question pray. Do you need a separate amp to drive a soundbar, or does the soundbar have the amp built in?
I have a 75inch OLED LG TV with an amazing soundbar (cost over 1k for the soundbar which is a big chunk of cash for the average family) and it still doesn't hold a candle to the cinema expierience. I mainly got the system for football, but will continue to watch big screen movies at the cinema with my mates. I know its a while off, but i absolutely cant wait for Avatar 2 to come out in cinemas!
Pretty much no-one out there has anything anywhere near the cinema experience. Who would have the space for a screen that big on their walls? Or want to have that kind of equiptment in their house when theyre not using it lol
BLSHFTW
Disclaimer. Other supermarkets are available.
How many people can afford or have space for sound systems and projectors or 90 inch tv screens. The government had to delay switching off the analogue signal as so many still did not have digital tv’s. With a global recession happening, I cannot see many people going on to amazon or going to their nearest Curry’s in order to buy a new tv.
Bouchos, I'm relatively well versed in the SVOD/AVOD industry.
Fact - Parents will and are paying subscription money for Disney + (over 50million subs and counting since launching properly this year) - They like the premium nature of the platform and the reassurances that come with specially curated and trusted content.
Content is absolute king in this day and age and on that front Disney (and the other SVOD services) holds all the cards... Most YouTube channels with broadcast-quality content only have the rights to said shows for around 3 years on average. When those rights lapse, the likes of BritBox, Rakuten, Samsung, Sony, Disney, Netflix etc etc will be chomping at the bit to immediately secure and monetise those shows more efficiently.
Also with tech innovation in the home cinema space booming, the only real positive that the cinema has is 'the experience'. Yes people are savvy, which is why they buy their sweets from Tesco's before going to the cinema... Its also why cinema owners are going to have to pivot their business models to not only compete with SVOD/TVOD and AVOD platforms, but also to re-ignite a passion for cinema. Secret cinema has managed to do that somewhat but at huge cost which now may amount to very little.
My honest opinion is that yes Cineworld investors will see gains from these levels, but Cinema as we know it has to adapt to survive or Cineworld won't even be seen as the nostalgic 'BlockBuster' of yester-year.
Dead cat bounce or the new foundation to build a bigger and better 'cinematic experience' it's do or die from here.
Disney is cr$$
I solely had it for Mandalorian
Mums and dads arent going to pay subscriptions and fees for kids when they can put youtube on for free. Most unfortunately illegaly download and stream anyhow people are very savvy with spending and tech lets face it. Even after they have watched a rubbish streaming copy they think this is one for the CINEMA or they BUY it just like a game
People will be doing what they can to save a penny going forwards and £5 for cinema ticket or unlimied subscription is a win win
It may get bad before it will get better we are subjected to multiple influences right now but it will get better thats why Im holding and will not sell anytime soon.
Lol Next he'll be saying North Korea are going into a second lockdown.
@m00la that only accounts for most of their revenue xD
Which country is going into a second lockdown? Trump and Borris have both said no to a second lockdown.
@bouchos I hope it's broken its pattern of "build you up in the evening, slam you down in the morning".
Imo if it moves up first thing in the morning then we're probably headed for the ramp real soon. People overthinking the Disney / Mulan thing at this point.
Fingers crossed!
Good call Bouchos, let's also not forget we have just absorbed the news about Mulan as well. I'd be happy with a break even day.
At least we got back here to blue I did say sit tight we will recoup and we have
Gives us a solid foundation for tomorrow
Onwards and upwards
gla dyor
Feels like an huge upswing is possible
Wish I had more to top up !!
