We should also keep in mind, this is an "investor relations" exercise.
Those two words should resonate in the ears of all looking at Cineworld.
This is an opportunity for Cineworld to further elbaborate on the earlier update that January, February were STRONGER performing months like for like 2019. I believe most of March was not impacted as the restrictions came in late, but we should consider Q1 performed as well if not better than 2019. Granted Q2 was a zero incoming reporting period, it's all about the cash burn from there on until end of June when the H1 reporting period ends. Mooky (CEO) made it clear that 70% of costs are variable, just how variable? Well, the fact that the share price remains in the 43p range tells you, many believe this will be a positive update, Mooky hinted to that as well ("good news coming soon", Bloomberg September).
If you believe in the fundamentals of cinema and Cineworld, hold and just wait for the natural recovery that will come across global markets and expect to see this BOUNCE hard as broker, Peel Hunt stated.
I am not surprised by the lack of the derampers, imo they appear when the price is falling or needs to fall for their benefit or that of their pay masters and disappear once the SP rises / their objectives have been met...gla and DYOR..
It would be awesome guitarman but I was just thinking that surely any company interested in a take over would need to see the results first so it can help them formulate a fair offer? Obviously we as investors want as much as possible but the purchasing company is going to want to get it as cheap as possible so they'll use the results to assess future earnings, increased debt and the companies business plan going forward amongst other things to help them decide on the best/lowest offer they think will be accepted.
I believe Mooky has done what he has needed to, agree his interviews are up beat... the opening figures are very good considering all restrictions and lockdowns around the globe
And don’t forget.. large institutions have bought millions around 40-50p range...
Fact is they will have done there homework!!!
Raise Thursday.. yeah I’ll go for that like AMC, massive I don’t think so but I wil be happy to get it out the way as a solid base to start the grown into the next cinema experience the 4d and wrap around screen X

Thanks for the replies guys
We'll get to find out why Mooky was so calm and confident in his videos. It won't be entirely baseless.
Poor results are built into current share price. If its anything other than 'we're going bankrupt' I see it rising. They just need to demonstrate their ability to hold out until March/April and I see some confidence coming back to the share.
Its clear from Mulan results that the direct to streaming experiment did not work so the main threat is Covid. If we can navigate that then onwards and upwards.
Do we expect the price to fall or stay the same on Thursday?
Surely nothing from the results is going to give a big rise?????
