Hello Pensioner167, I guess we will just have to agree to differ on this, as I certainly don't want to be labelled as a "Bam" or "Chimer" type of poster. Having said that, in an attempt to correct your response, Bango is NOT the the only company working with Amazon on the bundling of Prime services with Mobile Network Operators.
Fortumo, Docomo Digital and Syncronoss all provide these bundling services for Amazon and there are publicly available sites with this news, so it's not hearsay. For example...
https://fortumo.com/press/fortumo-connects-amazon-to-carrier-billing-enabling-bsnl-india-to-distribute-amazon-consumer-services/ and https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2019/05/08/1819419/0/en/Synchronoss-teams-up-with-Amazon-to-Provide-Global-Service-Integration-to-Mobile-Operators.html.
I suspect that Amazon is working with Boku too, given the bundling that Boku provides for Apple and Spotify, but Boku tend to keep these activities quiet; not sure why. If you want to understand a little more about bundling and Amazon's proposition, their Fuse website at https://www.amazonfuse.com/ is a useful resource.
I'll keep quiet from this point on, I was simply trying to understand more about the point you made in relation to Bango and Lionsgate and Eros, hence my question, but I think I've answered it myself. There IS no proven relationship and I very much doubt that one does exist.
Bango handles the video streaming for Vodafone Qatar and also Vodafone IDEA both Stream Amazon Prime Video and Bango is the only DCB company with a contract to stream Amazon Prime Video. Both Vodafone Qatar and Idea have packages with Amazon Prime Video. Smaller companies such as Eros are added into the packages as an extra, in a similar way to the way Sky operates. The Bango platform entails contracts with the MNOs and the Merchants. It is quite sophisticated and was developed with Amazon and Netflix etc over a number of years. The MNOs do not share customer details with the Merchants.
The only other DCB company with a platform is Fortumo. They use this to stream Spotify but it is not comparable. Bundles based on Spotify can include Hulu. This is a video service that is now owned by Disney and Disney appear to be planning to use this route when they launch in November. You will be aware that Bango recently entered into a partnering arrangement with Spotify.
Thank you Pensioner167. I already have a full and thorough understanding of bundling, (hard, soft, discounted, free, data funded, ad funded…) for both pre-paid (debit) and post-paid (credit) types of user, having worked in the industry for many years. My question was very specific and not related to bundling.
I was simply asking where you’d read that Bango has a deal with Lionsgate and is also involved in the Vodafone Qatar launch of Eros. Their reference to Lionsgate was in a long list of companies who the new Business Development Manager would need to win…
("This position is a customer facing role and presents a great opportunity for an ambitious and capable sales executive to win new business with YouTube, Disney, Warner Brothers, Netflix, Pandora, Tidal, Spotify, Hulu, Lionsgate and many others")
and I can find no reference to Bango in the Vodafone Qatar / Eros news release you posted a link to.
SavvySwede you need to understand bundling and how the Bango platform works.
Hello Pensioner167. I've been following this company for the past few months and I'm intrigued by your reference to Lionsgate and SimonSaid's "amazing spot Pensioner" response. What makes you think that Bango has a deal with Lionsgate and that they are additionally at all involved in the Vodafone Qatar launch of Eros?
My understanding from their job posting is that Bango is simply suggesting that these companies are targets for the Business Development Manager role they're looking to recruit. The important words used are "to win new business with"...
("This position is a customer facing role and presents a great opportunity for an ambitious and capable sales executive to win new business with YouTube, Disney, Warner Brothers, Netflix, Pandora, Tidal, Spotify, Hulu, Lionsgate and many others").
Also, unless you've found something that I haven't, I don't understand your statement of "Simon, it is not just the big names but also lots of smaller streaming companies that are taking advantage of the Bango platform. For example Eros Now and Vodafone Qatar". Where did you read that?
Simon, it is not just the big names but also lots of smaller streaming companies that are taking advantage of the Bango platform. For example Eros Now and Vodafone Qatar.

In the above job advert Lionsgate is mentioned:
