I am 100% rejecting this offer.
We should start a new thread with combined share ownership here.... would be interesting to know where we're at.
I have written to BCN to tell them what I think I suggest all other sane shareholders do the same ...
Don't think so, I've tried to re read the RNS but it is full of legalese which is a bit over my pay grade.
They are signalling their intention to bid provided certain pre conditions are satisfied (in section 3 of the announcement) which includes permissions from various Chinese State bodies and their own due diligence. To go above 29.9% would force that further step into a bid immediately. So am guessing but they can go up to a maximum of 29.9%
I'm no expert but I remember reading that if a shareholding goes above 30% then the holder is obliged to make a takeover bid at the highest 6 month price which is 67.99p according to this site. So maybe Genfeng have increased holding to 30.1% and the RNS hasn't been sent out.
....price.
Will not be voting for this.
A derisory offer, seemingly manipulated with the placement price, and then presented as 50% in excess of current trading price.
As a lth I was hoping for@£5 plus at some point in the future, or a takeover before then at a lower, but still reasonable
Cautious I have only just bought in for the 20%
Would like more obviously - that's why I asked if it is worth more??
Yes, IMO you do buy shares in a situation like this. I reckon there is a solid 10%to 15% to be made on the arbitrage here over the next few weeks. I can't see Ganfeng not making a final offer, or, frankly, not succeeding with it. And the price will only go up, not down.
And, at the very worst, if the offer collapses, you're left with shares in a lithium mine which are worth more than 56p in the long run anyway.
A better question would be, why are people selling?
Surely you dont buy shares like this for a 20% profit ???
Cus its not a firm offer probably - more of a fishing offer IMO..
Thats what a few of us are wondering Nick
Sorry for the dumb question, but why is the SP only 57p when the offer is 67p. Isn’t it a money printing opportunity? Maybe I’m missing something
Well I am happy for a quick 20% profit - but I will vote against if you lth are feeling hard done by and think worth more?? - only 40k shares but may be of help.?? Gl
Let's not kid ourselves, this bid is hugely political to stymie the Americans who are lagging badly in rare earth and other essential metals.
Current market price suggests it is a great offer, the Chinese have played a blinder and we are all getting done over like kippers.
I'm going to sleep on this but might buy some in the market in the coming days and wait and see. If the discount does close rapidly then the Chinese are home and dry.
Totally agree, I'm not surprised by this gambit as it has chinese written all over it, but anyone who thinks this price is okay are delusional -- this is a cheeky dirt cheap punt IMO...
Absolute poor offer
