Bladey, I too have an HL account. I also have ETorro, Freetrade, and what I still call TDWaterhouse as well as Deal for Free
In my main accounts I keep five figure sums but some like etorro are what I call pocket money accounts to you in crypto’s and indices
More significantly I have five figure sims invested in an EIS fund and also I loan money to a property developer for generous fixed returns on an monthly basis
So forgive me when I didn’t clarify earlier about difficulty switching g funds - I’m talking about major amounts going from one acc to another completely different set up
I’m not really referring to pocket money amounts !
I am bovewer considering another five figure addition in Adv but that with an EIS fund already doubled- but it’s simply not easy to switch from one share to another as in what we do with HL
For all main amounts I’d e expected most people to be already fully invested. After all, why invest at 4p when you could literally have done so at 3p
Anyways
less than 50 seconds for me on ii assuming it doesn't go NT, (I won't sell on a NT, regardless), maybe some are still using the "phone broker" solution lol.
Whether I buy more or not is irrelevant tbh, as I've already said I am comfortable with my current accumulation as it stands.
I can sell and use funds straight away, but can't take money out of account until cleared..
@sgf he1
How long do you think it takes to make a trade?
I can sell on HL and the funds are there immediately to then use for new trades.
I don’t know what platform you’re on - I used to be with Aegon and they took 3 days to clear trades before the funds were available to then trade again, so I moved SIPP/ISA/GIA
.
Sounds like you need a new platform.
Hope that helps.
Please try to forgive my typing - blooming auto correct on my already tiny smartphone
I would’ve typed more carefully but often I do that and then suddenly the page drifts disconnected lol
“If it falls then I will sell others and invest in Adv“;
- oh it only it as that easy ! It takes time to close a position, for that position to complete; then time to transfer to buying Adv.
- but the one I enjoy even better ( find even funnier) is “ if the sp falls I will buy more” Yes people do this but only fir so long. Then the funds simply aren’t there ( otherwise they’d already be invested here from a much lower sp). Hiwdirver, tge people that say this will have my vote to be the next Orime Minister - they seem to have found the magic money tree :—)
