IS Arm Holdings is the focus of takeover gossip. The latest is that Intel is preparing a bid for the company this could be speculation but could help Intel greatly with their competition against Apple
Arm Holdings was also the focus of takeover gossip. The latest chatter is that Intel is preparing a bid for the business. Arm gained 5.1 to 295½p. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/markets/marketreport/7882471/FTSE-100s-6.1pc-rise-over-the-week-is-best-in-a-year.html
Just imagine in the future ! Everybody across the world owning and using a device in their pocket that can access the internet and much more besides, powered by ARM chips! For todays 20 year olds, these are vital tools to their social networking ! Prices of contracts will become cheaper, applications will become better. We are just at the begining of this revolution. These are not just mobile phones and every kid wants one ! ARM is to this revolution as Petrol companies were to the car industry ! So glad i thought about this last year when i bought at 95p
Full story follow the link, souning nice now. http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2010/05/31/ipad-sales-beat-the-street-by-162/
I keep reading about rumours of Apple's interest in ARM, but think more so someone like Microsoft may jump in and buy, to fend of Apple. As Apple are now bigger than Microsoft, it would give Microsoft a good earner and rub Apples nose in it if they bought ARM. Hope they do, either way ARM will soar !!!!!
With distributian companys pre ordering stock for xmas theres no stopping this one now
ipad in Europe This will this help ARM to move up
The 20 analysts offering 12 month price targets for ARM Holdings PLC (ARM:LSE) have a median target of 246.00, with a high estimate of 300.00 and a low estimate of 155.00. The median estimate represents a 1.03% increase from the last price of 243.50.
Ah right now I get it. I didin't realise it was from a magazine which made me think you gone off on some strange etherial story. Makes total sense now! I am actualy English but living in the states at the moment. I love this stock. Finally convinced to take some profit so sold half at 253 but only cos i want to jump in again at 230. If i hve the balls to do that. Hae had a chance to play w he ipad though. great toy
OH, so you are an AMERICAN, you should have said! Investors Chronicle is a Magazine published in the UK.. I worked in computers for 25 years and believe I understand ARM's products better than most.. A Disciple is one who FOLLOWS, an Apostle, one who is SENT. Warren Buffett, well known Billionare who lives in OMAHA.
can anything be read into todays sp? Could almost tell exactly what price the next tick was going to be , vast majority of AT trades, then the big uncrossed one at close?
Thanks for yr reply. I'm actually in the States so read yr post at about 4am after a few jars and it seemed kind mystical at that time lol. In truth I didn't really understand it then and now in the cold light of day still find it a bit baffling. But i know this is down to my ignaorance so can you explain it to me Cheers in advance
I forgot to add that I am a Disciple of Warren Buffett.
In another life I was in IT for 25 years. A computer Op. who taught himself the basics of programming. In the Kingdom of the blind, I am a one eyed man .. I'm hoping you are not what a friend describes as a 'Who am I, what am I?' type..
who are you...?
Mr BearBull has/had a short on ARM at 229, keep this in mind when reading 'Sell' notes which seem to come up in every edition now ... This was his revenge for picking them at 78p for his portfolio in Spring last year then suffering a failure of nerve according to a recent edition.
I followed yr thoughts on ARM and w interest but wondered where you got this news from.
ex-broker...
Good news on a possible take over.. So back in and good price also :) If so this should hit 260+270's within days... watch this space :)
:p
check out mega trade today (26th). I still think APPLE & INTEL may stake build like they did in IMG. The jewel in the crown may be the ARM CPU chip that rivals the INTEL ATOM, see GEEK.com video, smoking! IMHO ARM is 'A wonderful company ' as Mr Buffett would say - I will hold them til I die.
Deny of selling seemed more like bragging of how good they really are ! I still think theres possible take over, as the price has crept back up a little already. Either way I can see these at £3 -4 if not even higher.
No buy out I'm afraid guys !! so may see this slide a bit but if it does worth a top up as still a great share :)
Is this the reason why the share price is falling today? http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/marketforceslive/2010/apr/22/armholdings-marketforces
