CEO, Dorian Gonsalves, and CFO, Louise George, are presenting live on Belvoir Group's interim results at the Shares/AJ Bell tonight at 6.55pm. Link to register https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/events/event/shares-investor-webinar-080921
Turns out it was the board!
As per today's RNS, new options were exercised by 3 members of the board at 250p and enough sold to cover the costs. Not making a huge amount of profit percentage-wise, but basically on a free ride for the remainder.
Additionally 3% dilution for the rest of the shareholders.
That explains a lot of the recent high volume, along with some automated trades, stop losses being hit and panic sells. This might be a good time to top up?
Just attended the Investor Meet Company presentation given by Dorian and Louise and felt they did an excellent job including commenting on the share price movement.
Very much of the opinion after the presentation that I'm keeping hold of my BLV shares and, after waiting for the market to come to it's senses, will look at buying more.
Guess there must be a lot of profit taking judging by the huge sells . £3.5 million in last 15 mins ! Gl
From what i've read of the results, they are superb and demonstrate the quality of this small cap stock. Crazy to see a 20% sell off from last week's highs of 325p. Chart wise, it's made a double top and is now back at the previous breakout zone which was driven off the back of previous results and good market conditions. Unfortunately, evidenced by Barratt selling off on their news last week, its seems the property sector is performing poorly at present. I imagine its due to expectation that the market will return to normality next year.
However, I fail to see how that's a negative since that's (1) what we bloody want and (2) if it does, that will apply to virtually every other stock on the market meaning growth will be down across the board. Looking back historically, Belvoir has been strong in good and poor market times so i'm personally very happy to hold here and potentially add to my holding if the bloodbath continues. There are not many small cap companies with the growth record, profitability and debt management that Belvoir has.
Likehellyoudo2 take your nasty lies and deramping elsewhere. This is a decent board with real investors, we don't need nonsense from the likes of you. Filtered so I don't waste any more of my time with you.
So kind of you to break the habit of a lifetime and make your first post an unsubstantiated rumour on here. Without some posting history people will be understandably skeptical of you motives. A lot of people come on here and post so called rumours that they've just made up to drive the price down. Shocking I know. The alternative is that a lot of profit has been made recently buying BLV and people want to cash it in.
Could be down to unrest within the Belvoir network. They only make money if there franchisees are happy and judging by the rumours there is a lot of discontent with the plc !! Profits are made by the network and not the plc.
Dorian Gonsalves, CEO, and Louise George, CFO, will present live to retail investors reporting on the Group's interim results via the Investor Meet Company platform today at 4.30pm. No sign of skeletons in the wardrobe but the market remains in a negative phase for now. I guess there have been some exceptional reasons for such a strong performance this half year. However, BLV has proven capable of growth in all market conditions, and I suspect more acquisitions are likely either this year or next. If the blood-letting in the market continues I'll be adding for the long-term. K
Interim dividend increased to 4p. Dorian Gonsalves, CEO: "Having reported H1 profitability considerably ahead of our start of year expectations, and given the Group's further investment in earnings enhancing businesses to expand both the property and the financial services divisions, and high activity levels within all areas of our business at the start of H2, the Board is confident of achieving a strong trading performance for the full year."
Still reading through the detail but on the face of it another excellent performance by BLV.
Thanks Krusty
Qd22 I agree, plus they gave a very positive trading update a month ago (RNS 3/8/21) so it's difficult to see how things could change dramatically from then until now. We'll find out on Monday. There are always reasons for people/insti's to sell, and making a profit is one of the better ones. I still think we might see £3 today as we get near the close.
They must have a pretty good idea of what the results will be like. I can’t see them presenting at a shares magazine webinar if they were going to be bad. Okay, you have to tell the truth, but you don’t have to rub it in - and embarrass yourselves more than necessary.
Great, thanks troken. For info, Belvoir will be presenting at a Shares Magazine webinar next Wednesday 8th Sept from 18:00 (Belvoir due on at 18:30 but past experience suggests this can change). No doubt they'll be updating investors following Monday's results: https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/events/event/shares-investor-webinar-080921
Courtesy of thorpematt on ADVFN:
"Yes, results are out on Monday. I see no specific reason for the fall. I suspect profit taking is to blame. The shares have had a good run and the chart has gone off the top of its trading range. Often investors get a little cautious and bank profits pre-results. The combination of the 2 can often see such dips in the price. Recent trading has been very good so I suspect this is just a technical re-trace (or in other words an opportunity to buy)."
I can't find any information actomox but I've gone by the old adage and bought some more on the dip. Hope I haven't got it wrong. K
Anyone any knowledge of why? Only RNS seems to relate to a presentation at an AJ Bell event in next couple of weeks.
Fantastic update, this is really going to fly today. Being picky, would like to have seen news of a dividend increase. Hopefully that will come with the half-year results next month. Onwards and upwards Belvoir!
Great trading update
OK thanks marine, that explains it then. I can't find a link so presumably it's behind a paywall.
The Daily Telegraph recommended Belvoir this morning. May take a while to calm down.
Coming off the highs now, maybe a bit of speculation? It was certainly being pumped at one point!
