Tonlin, I agree. We view all of this through the lenses of Western wealth. I wish to stay wealthy and I am a great believer in exporting wealth and not importing poverty or creating poverty. The sharing of wealth, not the handing it over (Export to include distribution with the UK). Help nations to help themselves. Firstly stop total tw$ts in power bombing everything and stirring up trouble for everyone. Stop funding regimes. Stop trying to undermine legitimate governments. Increase bio research (insert genetic modificafion) so that poorer nations can grow crops in salinated soil or can increase nitrogen uptake. Reforestation of sub Saharan Africa. Water purification. Support legitimate governments (although that is a snake pit too as who is to decide who is legit and by whose authority). If I was poor, hungry and needed the best for my children and lived somewhere in the 3rd world, I know what I would want to do. Remove trade barriers to allow poorer nations to access the wealth created. Don't steal poorer countries young. Don't steal professionals from poorer (3rd world?) countries. Don't steal their resources. Use less. Train our own. Train others. Prepare for the future with more people (older in the case of the West), fewer jobs, less resources and AI. Simple hey?
Tonkin. That’s totally selfish. Using this BB to bring forward your own wishes with regards to personal fortune and this company. Thoroughly ashamed is what you should be. You capitalist running dog. Shame on you.
is going to sound really selfish. If we leave with a deal, we'll be ok as a country. The poorest in society will remain relatively poor but there will be a safety net for the most vulnerable. If we stay in, much the same will be the case. If we leave without a deal, the most vulnerable are the ones most likely to suffer because that is what usually happens. it's not the way it should be but there we are. Whatever the outcome over the next few days/weeks, the country will survive. The folks in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Syria, N.Korea etc etc etc, if they are aware of our 'plight', would be looking at us with huge envy and be wondering what the hell have we got to worry about!! Of course this is a big deal within the context of Europe, but as far as they are concerned it is totally insignificant. Food, shelter and medicine are their priorities. Within that context Britain in or out of Europe is pretty unimportant. If we spent half the energy we used up debating brexit on trying to sort out the deep inequalities that exist on our planet, the place would be so much better for it. Having said all of that, and with a degree of guilt and utter selfishness, I will be glad when La Parilla is fully up and running and the sp can begin to fully reflect the worth of this company.
