BB , on reading your HL response, I would say in reply, the circular was asking for a response , they wanted my support for the resolution, so why did you not let me know?

962, exactly my point , brokers have a duty of care to their clients and in taking our money they put themselves firmly on the line.

Ox42, are you posting the halifax response? If the company really did fail to notify brokers that is a big deal and anothermatter for the legal bods.

Sale of assets
Today 17:32
A conspiracy is a conspiracy! And the sale of assets might be illegal. If I am not mistaken the `agreed' sale depended on meeting a number of conditions, so cannot therefore, by definition, have been final. Lets leave it to the big boys shall we.

but £65K Approx bought in the last 20 minutes, including one single £20K buy.

Food for thought.Whatever is going on good to see some organisation from pi`s.Get something for yourselves.Might seem a selfish viewpoint but I suspect this deal will see multiple route closures and jobs going.Much as the BOD want to be seen as saviours, they are just covering their own backsides.Hard to see how they could have done a worse job.Appalling hedgeing policy,no decent advertising, did not get the shears out 2 years ago ,waffled on about prospects and then effectively pulled the wool over investors eyes.No doubt they have other work lined up.Well I hope they will be too busy in court to do anything else. They are not fit for purpose imo.

"lybe Group plc
Formal Sale Process as Part of Strategic Review

The Board of Flybe Group plc ("Flybe" or the "Company") announces today that it is undertaking a comprehensive review of the various strategic options open to it to address the current challenges facing the airline industry and maximise value for shareholders. These options include further capacity and cost saving measures, initiatives to strengthen the balance sheet and preserve cash resources, as well as a potential sale of the Company through the commencement of a "formal sale process" (as referred to in Note 2 on Rule 2.6 of the Code).
The Board has appointed Evercore as its financial adviser to assist it with this review."

Note "Maximise value for shareholders" I`d hate to think what their idea of value is in their very strange mindset.

I assume your broker charges you commision on any buys/sells you make ?.
I assume your broker charges you a monthly admin fee for holding your shares ?.
Not a bad deal for deciding what or what not to tell you as they seem fit.

BB, i have written back to HL pointing out that the key information for the EGM, they failed to provide to shareholders was the companies intention, which might have rung some alarm bells with investors . I will let you know what they say.I have suggested they join forces with Hosking and pursue a legal claim. I will let you know what they say.

MY reply from HL - load of tosh

When we are officially notified of a corporate action (such as a takeover offer) that requires action on your part, we will write to all affected clients and advise them of the options that are available to them. This can be some time after the offer is initially announced. I note from page 23 of the company's announcement dated 11 January:

"Further details of the Scheme, including an indicative timetable for its implementation, will be contained in the Scheme Circular. The Scheme Circular will be published as soon as reasonably practicable and within 28 days of this Announcement."

We don't get involved in legal disputes between clients and the companies in which they have invested. However, if you choose to participate in legal action, we will provide information in relation to your holding (copy contract notes, statements, etc.) upon request.

I will inform them i see this as corporate action ( i'm not a expert rhough ) and debate it with them and Even ask them to support any CLASS ACTION they can only say No !!

Ox 42, yes I will forward both responses.
As I recall HL were on the big shareholders list, with around 5% of the shares on their books , of which around 3.5% were pI's the rest in the fund management dept.. Given only 30% of shareholders voted, that 5% equals 15% of votes cast.

Taverham: mind forwarding that email on? That would be good evidence on the timeline. (With your email and any sensitive numbers redacted)

Wonder if requesting information on how many of their holders held FLYB is within the realms of an FOI request...

Gonna stick my neck out and say that the reason the sp has been held up the last few days is shorters closing each time, hence ehat appear as big buys. Once they've gone I fear for the sp.
All imo of course
