"Chime" or "the Company"

Chime announces that on 10 October 2008 the Chime Communications plc Employee Trust ("the Trust") purchased 33,388 ordinary shares of the Company at 77 pence per share. The shares were purchased by the Trust for the purpose of satisfying awards under the Chime Communications plc Deferred Share Plan 2006 as approved by the Board on 4 May 2006. The Executive Directors are not eligible for grants under the Scheme.
