Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 03 September 2008 it purchased 461,269 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 239.50 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 234.00 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 516.327 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 237.3681 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
