Fyffes plc - transaction in own shares

Fyffes plc announces that on 15 May 2008, it purchased 2,000,000 Ordinary Shares of €0.06 each in the issued share capital of the company ("Ordinary Shares") at €0.80 per share. All of the shares repurchased will be held as Treasury Shares, increasing the aggregate number of Treasury Shares held by the company and subsidiary companies to 13,021,610. Following this repurchase Fyffes plc has 364,319,406 Ordinary Shares in issue.
