In conformity with the Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the Company would like to notify the market that as at 30 September 2009, the issued share capital of Max Petroleum consisted of 391,313,672 ordinary shares with voting rights attached (one vote per ordinary share). There are no ordinary shares held in Treasury. Therefore the total number of voting rights in Max Petroleum is 391,313,672.

The above total voting rights figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine whether they are required to notify their interests in, or a change to their interest in, Max Petroleum under the Financial Service Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
