Total Voting Rights

For the purposes of the transitional provisions of the Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of ordinary shares of 25 pence each in the capital of the Company in issue as at the date of this notice is 39,976,272 with each share carrying the right to one vote. 

The Company holds 506,000 ordinary shares in Treasury, which do not carry any voting rights.

Therefore, the total number of ordinary shares carrying voting rights in AEP is 39,470,272.

The above figure of 39,470,272 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
