Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") on July 31, 2018 announced that its Board of Directors has approved the renewal of the property and casualty insurance policy from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd., which was set to expire on July 31, 2018.

1. Effective date: August 1, 2018

2. Insurance premium: KRW 70,753 million

3. Coverage period: August 1, 2018-July 31, 2019 (1 year)

4. Purpose: To insure against any damage or loss from fire or other accidents at SEC's business sites located in Korea.
