Johnston Press PLC15 December 2005 Johnston Press plc Announcement 15 December 2005 Johnston Press completes the acquisition of The Leinster Leader Limited Further to our announcement on 16th September 2005, Johnston Press plc('Johnston Press') yesterday successfully completed the acquisition of TheLeinster Leader Limited ('The Leinster Leader'). As previously disclosed theacquisition of The Leinster Leader was subject to the approval of the IrishCompetition Authority and the Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade andEmployment under the legislation governing competition and the ownership ofnewspapers. Following receipt of the required regulatory clearances all thenecessary conditions have been satisfied. The Leinster Leader was acquired for an aggregate consideration of €138.6million on a debt free basis. As previously disclosed the consideration will besatisfied from Johnston Press' banking facilities.
