Fortune Oil PLC18 May 2005 18 MAY 2005 FORTUNE OIL PLC ("Fortune Oil" or "the Company") NOMINATION OF DIRECTORS At the Company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 22 June 2005,the following three individuals will be nominated to join the Board of FortuneOil. The Notice of Annual General Meeting, including details of the proposedresolutions, is included in the Company's Annual Report which is being posted toshareholders today. John Pexton - proposed as Executive Director John Pexton, aged 44, joined Fortune Oil as Deputy Chief Executive in February2004. Mr Pexton worked for ten years as a chartered Chemical Engineer in thedownstream oil industry followed by ten years with Morgan Grenfell and DeutscheBank in London. Prior to joining the Company he was a Director and Head of AsiaProject Finance for Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong and advised PetroChina ondeveloping the West-East Gas Pipeline. He holds an MA degree from Jesus College,Cambridge and an MBA from London Business School. Gong Min - proposed as Executive Director Mr Gong, aged 48, joined Fortune Oil in 2000, and has worked as General Managerof the Project Department since 2002. He graduated with a Masters Degree ininternational public law at the Institute of Law, China Academy of SocialScience in Beijing. Prior to joining Fortune Oil he worked for 10 years in theoil trading business with Sinochem, at both its head-office in Beijing and asthe General Manager of Sinochem International Oil (London) Co. Ltd in the UnitedKingdom. Li Anxi - proposed as Non-executive Director Mr Li, aged 52, is President and Party Secretary of Maoming PetrochemicalCorporation (MPCC). Graduated from Hefei University of Technology in 1978, Mr Listarted his career at Qilu Petrochemical Corporation and worked there for 22years, holding various important management positions. He was appointed as PartySecretary of MPCC in July 2004 and became President of MPCC and LegalRepresentative of Sinopec Maoming Branch Company in March 2005.
