Empire Online Limited20 September 2005 Empire Online Limited ("Empire Online" or the "Company") Offer update On 2 September 2005, Empire Online announced that it had received an approach ("Approach") from a party interested in merging its business with that of EmpireOnline, via the acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued share capitalof the Company, and that discussions were at an extremely early stage. Thisparty was Sportingbet plc, as the board of Sportingbet plc announced on 4September 2005. Empire Online can now confirm that, by mutual agreement, it has ceaseddiscussions with Sportingbet in respect of the Approach.
