Verona Pharma plc (the "Company") Notification of interest

Following the issue of new ordinary shares of 0.1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") pursuant to the placing at 4p per share, as announced on 7 January 2008, the Company received notification on 9 January 2008 that MLP Investments (Luxembourg) S.a.r.l. has a direct interest in 11,437,500 Ordinary Shares, representing 5.59% of the current issued share capital of the Company.
