Launch of New PowerShares Sub-Funds

The Directors of PowerShares Global Funds Ireland public limited company (the "Company") announce the launch of the following new PowerShares sub-funds:

PowerShares Dynamic Japan Fund;

PowerShares Global Agriculture NASDAQ OMX Fund; and

PowerShares Middle East North Africa NASDAQ OMX Fund;

(the "New Funds").

Applications have been made for the New Funds to be admitted to the United Kingdom Listing Authority's Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market. Dealings in the shares of the PowerShares Dynamic Japan Fund and the PowerShares Global Agricultural NASDAQ OMX Fund are expected to commence on Monday, 15 September 2008. Dealings in the shares of the PowerShares Middle East North Africa NASDAQ OMX Fund are expected to commence on or before 31 October 2008 (a further announcement confirming the date on which dealings are to commence will be issued in due course).

The Company is an open-ended investment company with variable capital organised under the laws of Ireland. The Company was authorised by the Financial Regulator as an Undertaking for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities ("UCITS") for the purposes of the Irish Regulations on 13 September 2002 to offer pooled investment. The Company has the status of a recognised scheme under section 264 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The Company is structured as an umbrella fund in that the share capital of the Company may be divided into different classes of shares with one or more classes representing a sub-fund of the Company. Each sub-fund may have more than one share class.
