Liberty PLC05 September 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 5 September 2007 LIBERTY MAKES KEY HR APPOINTMENT Liberty, the iconic luxury brand and West End-based retail emporium, todayannounces the following senior appointment as part of its strategy to establishthe business as a major global luxury brand. Sara Edwards has been appointed Human Resources and Change Director for theLiberty Group and will be responsible for implementing a cultural change withinthe business that will enable it to become a recognised leader in luxury goods'retailing. Sara will take up her role on the Executive Committee of the main operatingcompany on 1 January 2008. She joins from her position as Vice President HumanResources at Maybourne Hotel Group (formerly The Savoy Group) where she hasspent an extremely successful eight years, achieving recognition for thatcompany in the top 100 Great Places to Work in Europe. She has spent virtually her entire career in the hotel and hospitality industryjoining her current employer in 1999 as Director of HR at Claridge's beforebeing promoted to Group Director of HR in 2003. Previously she was Regional HRDirector (Benelux and London) with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts. During her career in the hotel industry Sara has become recognised as one of thecountry's leading HR professionals, appearing in HR Magazine's top 100 MostInfluential List for the past two years and is highly regarded within theleisure and tourism industry.
