Gemfields Resources Plc ("Gemfields" or "the Company", Ticker "GEM") received notification on 10 March 2009 from Rox Limited ("Rox") that on 9 March Rox purchased 1,100,000 of the Company's ordinary 1p shares at a price of 2.75p each. Following this transaction, Rox limited has a notifiable interest in 208,103,596 of the Company's ordinary 1p shares, amounting to approximately 64.2% of the Company's issued share capital.
