Verona Pharma plc (the "Company") Holding(s) in Company

The Company received notification on 14 August 2007 that, on 9 August 2007, following the acquisition of 250,000 ordinary shares of 0.1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 2.25p per share, the CI Burton Family Trust A/C and the CI Burton Super Fund A/C have an interest, in aggregate, in 10,250,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 7.1 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.

The notifiable interest also comprises the notifiable interest of Mr Craig Burton who is a trustee and beneficiary of the CI Burton Family Trust A/C and the CI Burton Super Fund A/C.
