TR 1 Notification of Major Interest in Shares

The Company received notice on 6 August 2008 from Standard Life Investments Limited in fulfilment of the obligations imposed by the Financial Services Authority in accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5. A disposal of shares on 5 August 2008 gives a total interest of 21,067,176 ordinary shares representing 15.98% of the issued share capital of the Company.  The controlled undertaking through which the voting rights are effectively held is Standard Life Investments Limited.

Voting rights attached to shares:

As at 6 August 2008, the Company has 131,840,933 ordinary shares, which is equal to the same number of voting rights.
