Faroe Petroleum PLC16 May 2005 Faroe Petroleum plc ("Faroe Petroleum" or "the Company") Significant shareholding The Company was notified on 12th May 2005 that, following the Company's recent placing, RAB Capital plc has increased its holding in Faroe Petroleum to 3,872,727 ordinary shares of 10p each, which represents 7.02 per cent. of the total issued ordinary share capital in the Company. RAB Capital does not act as custodian for its clients and therefore the sharesare held in the nominee names of the custodian of their clients, which are CSFBNominees Ltd and Morgan Stanley & Co International Ltd.
