Title: Byker Community Trust and Karbon Homes explore extension of successful partnership

The Board members of two North East housing associations Byker Community Trust (BCT) and Karbon Homes have agreed to explore a more formal partnership. 

BCT and Karbon have already been working together successfully in a cost sharing partnership since July 2016 with Karbon delivering repairs and maintenance, grounds maintenance, income management and sheltered housing, as well as central services such as finance, IT and HR for BCT. This has resulted in significant savings, improved performance and increased customer satisfaction. 

BCT is now seeking the views of its customers and stakeholders about the proposed partnership. The consultation period will run until the end of October 2020 and if successful, the aim is for the partnership to be in place by April 2021.
