EMPLOYEE BENEFIT TRUST PURCHASE

The Company has today been informed that on 21 October 2008, The Old Jewry Employee Benefit Trust, following a purchase, is now the beneficial owner of 26,557,297 ordinary shares of 0.25p ("Ordinary Shares") in Daniel Stewart Securities plc, representing approximately 11.29 per cent. of the Company's total issued share capital.

Therefore,  the number of Ordinary Shares which are in issue and not in public hands is 26,557,297.
