Re: Intimation of Order from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Jamshedpur, received by The Tinplate Company of India Limited
This has reference to the aforementioned subject.
The Tinplate Company of India Limited ('TCIL') is a listed subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited.
TCIL has on October 4, 2023, received an Order from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Jamshedpur Circle, Jamshedpur, imposing a penalty of approximately ?3,986.78 lakhs on TCIL in connection with an earlier demand order from Dy. Commissioner of Commercial taxes, Jamshedpur pertaining to FY 2016-17. The said demand order is presently pending appeal before the Commissioner of Commercial taxes, Ranchi.
TCIL being a listed entity has made necessary disclosures to the stock exchanges today in compliance with Regulation 30 read with Part A of Schedule III of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended.
