Direct Line Group Appoints Priscilla Vacassin as a Non-Executive Director

Direct Line Insurance Group plc ("Direct Line Group" or "the Company") today announces that Priscilla Vacassin has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Direct Line Group, effective 13 September 2012.

Priscilla was most recently Group Human Resources Director at Prudential plc (2005-11) and Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit Committee at the Ministry of Defence (2007-11). Previous positions include Abbey National plc, where she was Executive Director, Human Resources (2003-05); BAA plc, where she was Group Human Resources Director (2001-03) and Kingfisher plc, where she held a number of senior HR roles.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Biggs, Chairman, said:

"Priscilla is an excellent addition to the Board of Directors of the Company, which will benefit from her wealth of knowledge and experience in Human Resources, the financial services industry and customer facing businesses."
