PLC04 October 2007 F W THORPE PLC DIRECTORATE CHANGE The Company announces that David Lippold has tendered his resignation to theBoard and to Compact Lighting Limited ("Compact"), the subsidiary of which he ismanaging director, in order to pursue personal interests. David is expected tostep down from his appointments on 31 October 2007. David joined the board of Compact in September 1993 and the main Board in July1996. The Board would very much like to thank David for his contributions toCompact and the Group. His role of managing director of Compact is to be assumedthrough an internal promotion.
