Corac Group Plc03 April 2006 For Immediate Release 3 April 2006 CORAC GROUP PLC APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Corac Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alan Wood CBE asNon Executive Director with effect from 1 April 2006. Mr.Wood, currently Chief Executive of Siemens in the UK, began his career inengineering at Unilever on Merseyside, before studying for his second degree, anMBA at Harvard in 1975. On return to the UK, he assumed responsibility for theManufacturing Operations of Crittall Construction before becoming ManagingDirector of Small Electric Motors Ltd., a specialist manufacturer of motors andgenerators. Mr Wood joined Siemens in 1981, initially in Germany, before moving to head upSiemens Measurements in Oldham in the UK. He next took over responsibility forthe Siemens' Electronic Components, Telecommunications & Office AutomationDivisions based in Sunbury on Thames, and was subsequently appointed GroupManaging Director in Manchester with responsibility for four of the UK Divisionsof the company, prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive in April 1998. Mr Wood, 59, was Chairman of the CBI's National Manufacturing Council from2000-2002 and became Chairman of their South East Regional Council in 2005. Hetook over Chairmanship of the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce in2001, he held the Chair of the EEF Economic Policy Committee from 2003-2005 andwas elected President of the EEF in 2005. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and, in 2003, wasawarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws by Manchester University. In 2005he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Mr Wood was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in theQueen's Birthday Honours in 2005.
