APPOINTMENT OF A NEW DIRECTOR

The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc is pleased to announce that Christina McComb has been appointed as a Director of the Company with effect from 3 February 2011.

Christina McComb is an experienced venture capital investor and fund manager, spanning both private and public sectors.

Christina is currently a director of Partnerships UK plc ("PUK"), a public private partnership. She is responsible for PUK's investment activities, investing in early stage companies emerging from UK universities and research organisations. Christina is currently a non-executive director of Engage Mutual Assurance and Nexeon Ltd and is a Governor of Surbiton High School.

Previously, she was a director of the Shareholder Executive, an agency established in 2003 to manage the Government's shareholdings in publicly owned companies such as Royal Mail, British Nuclear Fuels, UK Atomic Energy Authority, Ordnance Survey, Met Office, QinetiQ and CDC. Christina was formerly a director of 3i, a leading UK and European private equity company. In her 14 years at 3i, Christina undertook a number of investment and portfolio management roles and prior to this Christina was a member of HM Diplomatic Service.

In accordance with the requirements of Listing Rule LR 9.6.13, the Company confirms that Christina was formerly a Director of Morgan Everett Ltd which was wound up through a voluntary Creditiors Liquidation on 22 February 2010.

No additional details need to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13(1) to (6) of the UK Listing Authority's Listing Rules.
