Board appointment and retirement

As described in the Company's latest Annual Report the board has a succession plan in place for appointment and retirement of directors and in accordance with this, Carolan Dobson is to retire as Chair of the Company at the Annual General Meeting in 2027.

The board is pleased to announce the appointment of Beatrice Hollond as a non-executive director of the Company and Chair-elect, with effect from 1 September 2026. Beatrice will become Chair of the Company on Carolan's retirement in 2027.

Beatrice brings extensive investment trust and leadership experience and is currently Chair of F&C Investment Trust PLC until she steps down on 31 July 2026. She was a non-executive director of Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC until 2022 and Telecom Plus PLC until 2025.

Beatrice is also Chair of Smedvig AS, alongside a number of other non-executive roles, including at Brown Advisory and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

Beatrice began her career as an equity analyst at Morgan Grenfell before spending 16 years at Credit Suisse Asset Management in global fixed income, where she progressed to Managing Director of Credit Suisse Asset Management, LLC.

Beatrice will become a member of the Nomination Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the Management Engagement Committee on appointment.

There are no other details requiring disclosure in respect of this appointment pursuant to UK Listing Rule 6.4.8R.
