Rosemary Hilary appointed as an independent non-executive director

 

Record plc ("Record"), the specialist currency manager, today announces the appointment of Rosemary Hilary as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 June 2016.

 

Rosemary was previously Chief Audit Officer at TSB where she built the Internal Audit function following the establishment of TSB as a separate bank divested from Lloyds Banking Group. She served at TSB from October 2013 to March 2016. Before working for TSB she was the Head of Internal Audit at the FCA/FSA where she led the reviews into the failure of RBS and the supervision of Northern Rock. Prior to joining the FCA/FSA, she held a senior supervisory role at the Bank of England. Her early career was spent in commercial banking and insurance. Rosemary graduated with a first class honours degree in Mathematics and European Studies from the University of Manchester (UMIST) and she is a qualified accountant.

 

From February 2010 to February 2016 Rosemary was a Trustee of the Board of Shelter, the national homelessness charity. Rosemary joined the board of the Pension Protection Fund in January 2016 and is a member of its Risk and Audit Committee. Rosemary is also a member of the MBA Advisory Board at Cass Business School.

Specifically, the Group has a leading position in managing Currency Hedging and Currency for Return for institutional clients.

 

The Group has three principal product lines:

 

· Dynamic Hedging, where Record seeks to eliminate the impact of currency movements on elements of clients' investment portfolios that are denominated in foreign currencies when these movements are expected to result in an economic loss to the client, but not to do so when they are expected to result in an economic gain;

 

· Passive Hedging, where Record seeks to eliminate fully or partially the economic impact of currency movements on elements of clients' investment portfolios that are denominated in foreign currencies; and

 

· Currency for Return, in which Record enters into currency contracts for clients with the objective of generating positive returns.
