Helical Bar PLC20 July 2005 20 July 2005 Helical Bar plc ("Helical Bar" / "Company") DIRECTORATE CHANGE As notified to shareholders in the Preliminary Results announcement on 2 June2005, Helical Bar confirms that, at a Board meeting following today's AnnualGeneral Meeting, John Southwell formally stepped down as the Company's Chairman. He will remain on the Board as a non-executive director. The Company is also pleased to confirm that, at that meeting, a resolution waspassed to appoint Giles Weaver FCA as non-executive Chairman. Giles Weaver, (59), was appointed to the Board of Helical Bar as a non-executivedirector in 1993 and is a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations andAppointments Committees. Mr Weaver's current directorships are Aberdeen AssetManagement plc, James Finlay Ltd, Isotron plc and a number of investmentcompanies. Previously, Mr Weaver has been a non-executive director of AtriumUnderwriting Plc and Chairman of Murray Johnstone Ltd. No further details remain to be disclosed as required under chapter 16.4 of theFSA Listing Rules.
