David Pickersgill, the Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive of Leeds Building Society, has decided to retire as a Director on 30 June 2011. Mr Pickersgill has worked for the Society since 1987 and been a main Board director since 1995.

Ian Ward, Chief Executive of Leeds Building Society said, "David has worked closely with me as Finance Director since I joined the Society in 1995, and I cannot speak too highly of his enormous skills, experience and commitment.

"During this time, David has made a significant contribution to the strength and success of Leeds Building Society. Our capital and reserves have grown from £161m, to £531m, and we have achieved cumulative pre-tax profit total of over £523m since he was appointed as Finance Director."
