Bristol Water PLC03 March 2008 Bristol Water plc3rd March 2008 Directorate Change Announcement of Intention to Retire - Dr Arnold Bates Dr Arnold Bates has today confirmed his retirement as a Director and full timeemployee of Bristol Water plc at the end of May 2008, on his 63rd birthday. Dr Bates has been with Bristol Water plc for 18 years and in that time has made significant improvements to water quality performance and reporting. To this day, he remains one of the most highly regarded water quality practioners in the industry. He also holds responsibility for IT strategy and security matters and is a boardmember of UKWIR, the UK water industry research body. In due course his responsibilities will be distributed amongst other directorsand senior executives. He has been asked to continue as a part-time employee to provide the Companywith regular reports on research developments to improve further our effectiveness and efficiency.
