GENERAL ACCIDENT PLC APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR

General Accident plc ("GA plc") announces that Patrick Regan has been appointed as a director with effect from 29 March 2010.

Patrick is currently chief financial officer and an executive director of Aviva plc, which he joined in February 2010.
