SCISYS PLC ('SCISYS' or the 'Company'), the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the Media & Broadcast, Space, Government and Defence sectors, is pleased to announce it has secured a contract with GMV Aerospace and Defence to deliver the Mission Operations Facility for EUMETSAT's upcoming geostationary weather satellite, Meteosat Third Generation ("MTG"). SCISYS is responsible for the integrated Mission Planning and Automation system together with associated Operations Preparation and Archiving functions.

 

The expected value of this contract to SCISYS is €1.8m over the next 6 years, commencing in the current accounting period. This contract win demonstrates the Company's momentum in completing upon a strong pipeline of business opportunities, as identified in the Preliminary Results announcement of 26th March 2014.

 

Two operationally proven applications developed by SCISYS will be combined to provide a highly integrated operations workflow from mission planning to spacecraft control. As well as ground-based automation, the system will provide cohesive management of operations delegated to the spacecraft's on-board schedule. The compact monitoring and control data archive will support fast retrieval and provide users with modern web-based displays.

 

SCISYS has worked for EUMETSAT on all the previous generations of European geostationary weather satellites and this contract continues our successful working relationship that now spans over 20 years.

This contract ensures SCISYS have a foothold in MTG ground segment and in core EUMETSAT business for many years.
