Eckoh wins Kiddicare secure payment contract

Eckoh plc (AIM: ECK), the UK's leading provider of speech recognition and associated payment solutions, today announced that it has secured a two year contract with Kiddicare, the UK's favourite baby website, to provide secure card payment services over the phone.

The agreement will see Eckoh supply Kiddicare with their EckohPROTECT payment solution. This is the second EckohPROTECT contract to be secured in quick succession through the new referral agreement with a global service provider that was announced in May 2012.

Acquired by Morrisons in 2011, Kiddicare takes pride in delivering an outstanding shopping experience, both in store and online. This is the first time Kiddicare will take payments over the phone utilising their existing contact centre agents, but complying with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards ("PCI DSS") regulations.

By using Eckoh as their PCI DSS compliant service provider, Kiddicare will be able to avoid a long and detailed part of the compliance process and quickly implement a secure card payment service for their customers. In addition, EckohPROTECT enables callers to make payments with contact centre agents who can verbally guide them through the payment process. The service is expected to commence in September 2012.

"EckohPROTECT is just what we were looking for at Kiddicare," said Ken Platt, Head of Multi-Channel, Morrisons.com. "Although most of our customers pay online through our website, many wanted the option to ask a few questions about the product before they make their purchases and then pay over the phone. We were really impressed with Eckoh's credentials, their PCI DSS level 1 status and their confidence at meeting our challenging implementation deadlines. We're looking forward to launching this service in just a few weeks, knowing that we can provide a secure yet convenient payment service that delivers an excellent customer experience."

Nik Philpot, Chief Executive Officer of Eckoh, commented: "Kiddicare is an excellent win for Eckoh in its own right but it also gives us the opportunity to showcase our capability to the wider Morrisons group. One of our key strategic goals is to increase the deal flow by extending our indirect channel relationships, and as the second EckohPROTECT contract won with our new partner in as many months it demonstrates that we're starting to make very tangible progress in this area. EckohPROTECT helps to solve a real business risk for organisations like Kiddicare whilst providing a secure payment environment for their customers and we believe the public will increasingly expect this when making payments over the phone. "
