STANDARD LIFE EUROPEAN PRIVATE EQUITY TRUST PLC (SLEPET) CALCULATION OF SCRIP DIVIDEND REFERENCE PRICE

SLEPET announces that the scrip dividend reference price for the fully paid extra shares to be issued to shareholders who elect to receive the scrip dividend option for the 2009 final dividend will be 99.1 pence per share.
The reference price is calculated as the average of the middle market quotations for the Company's shares as derived from the Daily Official List of the London Stock Exchange for the five business days, which commenced on 30 December 2009.
Shareholders electing for the scrip dividend option rather than cash would receive one new ordinary share for every 99.1p otherwise payable as a cash dividend on shares registered in their name on the Record Date in respect of which they have elected for the Scrip Dividend Option.
The detailed terms of the scrip dividend option for the 2009 final dividend are set out in the circular to shareholders dated 17 December 2009.
