Independent News & Media PLC05 October 2007 5 October, 2007 Independent News & Media PLC Purchase of Own Securities Independent News & Media PLC ("the Company" or "the Group") announces that on 5October, 2007 it purchased, in aggregate, 400,000 ordinary shares of nominalvalue €0.30 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares"). The price paid for these Ordinary Shares was €2.82. All of the Ordinary Shares repurchased will be held in treasury.
