UNITED UTILITIES GROUP PLC BLOCK LISTING APPLICATION

Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for block listings totalling 10,000,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each to trade on the London Stock Exchange and to be admitted to the Official List upon issuance. The shares shall rank equally with the existing issued ordinary shares of the Company.

The Block listings consist of shares to be issued under the following Schemes: - United Utilities Group Matching Share Plan Scheme, United Utilities Group Performance Share Plan, United Utilities Group SAYE Share Option Scheme and United Utilities Group Executive Share Option Scheme.

United Utilities Group's ordinary shares trade on the London Stock Exchange and its ADRs, each equal to two ordinary shares, trade over the counter under the Trading Symbol "UUGRY".
