Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") today announced

the record date for its 50th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM"). The corresponding

book closure period, during which period the shareholders' registry of SEC will be closed and no

transfer of shares in SEC will be effected, and other details of announcement are provided below.

Only those shareholders who are shareholders of record at the close of business on December 31,

2018, as listed on the shareholders' registry on the record date, will be entitled to receive notice of

and vote at the AGM.
