AnnualĀ General Meeting
Walker Greenbank PLC (AIM: WGB),Ā the luxury interior furnishings group whose brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co, Harlequin and Zoffany,Ā will hold its Annual General Meeting in London this morningĀ at which Ian Kirkham, the Company's Chairman, will make the following comments:
"Sales in the first half of the financial year, to 31 July 2008, are expected to be at leastĀ 5Ā per cent above the first half of last year,Ā reflecting continued strong organic growthĀ in our brands.Ā
"The effect of recent macro-economic issues on theĀ UKĀ retail sector is well documented. However, we areĀ able to offer a degree of resilience as ourĀ UKĀ customers are not to be found in the mass market andĀ approximately 40Ā per cent of our sales are inĀ contract andĀ overseasĀ markets,Ā where we are currently under represented and developing strongly.Ā
"As a result, and providedĀ current performanceĀ trends continue,Ā weĀ expect theĀ Company toĀ meet market expectations for the full year."
