Torex Retail PLC03 April 2006 Date: Monday 3rd April 2006 TOREX RETAIL PLC ANNOUNCES £30 MILLION IN NEW CONTRACTS FOR FIRST QUARTER OF 2006 Torex Retail Plc ("Torex Retail"), the leading European retail systems providerannounces that it has made a strong start to its new financial year, havingsecured in excess £30 million of new contracts in the first quarter of 2006 (Dec31st - March 31st), including more than £8 million of new business in the fastexpanding US market. USA: In the USA Torex Retail has won major hardware and services contracts totallingmore than £1million with Academy Sports, Barnes and Nobel College Book Storesand BJ's Wholesale club. The company has also signed services contracts worth inexcess of £2.2 million with organisations including Safeway and Bed Bath andBeyond. The company has also secured hardware sales in excess of £5.9 million inthe first quarter. UK Retail: In the UK, the company's retail business unit has won more than £6 million worthof new business, including a contract with fashion retailer Monsoon, who haveselected Torex Retail's Lucas Java software as its global strategic EPoSsolution. Other significant orders have been secured: new orders with Mills andGroup, Trago Mills and CDS Superstores (£430,000) as well as contractenhancements with T J Hughes, who are installing an additional 80 lanes of theLucas OSM solution across six stores in a £250,000 deal. Leisure & Hospitality & Gaming: Torex Retail's Leisure, Hospitality and Gaming operations have also made astrong start to the year with more than £6.5 million of business secured forsolution and hardware sales, as well as seven significant maintenance contracts.The Hospitality business has secured a £2.25 million contract with Punch Tavernsas well as being appointed by French Contract catering company Elior, which has11,000 sites worldwide, to provide solutions on a six site pilot project. Torex Gaming has secured in excess of £850,000 worth of contracts to providesolutions in locations ranging from the New Africa Casino in Dar es Salaam toSun International's Lestasi Casino in Botswana. The company is also deploying 68terminals at the Leotrakin Casino in Greece. In the UK, a successfully completedpilot with the Hard Rock Casino in Leicester Square has resulted in additionalwork at this location. In the UAE, a £500,000 contract has also recently beensecured with Landsteinar in Dubai. The Leisure division has secured contracts to supply the TLMS solution toCouncils across the UK from Slough in the South to Argyll and Bute in Scotlandas well as deals with Blaenau Gwent in Wales and Drogheda Council in Eire. UK Petroleum: The company's UK petroleum and convenience business has made a similarly strongstart to 2006 with more than £1.5 million worth of business secured withindependent retailers to date. Europe: In Mainland Europe the Company has made an exceptionally strong start to 2006,with more than twenty contracts across eight countries, totalling in excess of£6 million: these include a 11 European country-wide service contract with theleading German retailer Schlecker; the deployment of the Lucas OSM solutionacross 17 sites for France's Cafeterias Core and new PoS hardware for theleading discount supermarket chain Migroa Aare in Switzerland. Finally, inScandinavia Nokia has committed to investing £250,000 to install Lucas Java. Commenting on the success to date, Torex Retail's Chief Executive, Chris Mooresaid:- "These new contract wins, together with our strong existing run-rate business,ensures an excellent start to 2006. We continue to have high revenue visibilityas well as a strong order pipeline in place for the months ahead.
